Vending that pays the location owner

Vending Smart LLC was founded by Staci Harrison who is a Kansas City-based entrepreneur, former international model, and lifelong businesswoman. After two decades watching every kind of business get stuck with the same tired vending machine in the same forgotten corner, she knew there was a better way.

After years of building and operating brands across fashion, hospitality, and consumer goods, Staci launched Vending Smart on a simple premise: put a product in the machine that people genuinely want, and share the money with the business that provides the floor.

Today the company places collectible card vending machines in supermarkets, restaurants, boba shops, entertainment venues and family destinations across the metro on both sides of the state line. Every install is locally serviced, every product mix is built for that location's customers, and every host is paid a share of what the machine takes in.

Our Mission

Putting revenue back into independent KC businesses

Vending Smart places machines with the small, independent, often immigrant-owned businesses that anchor Kansas City neighborhoods — the family supermarket, the boba shop, the neighborhood bowling alley. These are the operators national vending companies skip because the foot traffic does not hit their thresholds. We invest the machine and the inventory so a business with thin margins gets a new income line at no cost and no risk.

Who we place with

Independent businesses first

We prioritise locally owned operators over regional chains, at the same zero-cost terms either way.

Locally owned & operated

Kansas City dollars stay in KC

Minority woman-owned. KC-headquartered. KC-staffed. We hire locally for every route and service role, so the money this machine generates circulates in the metro rather than leaving the state.

Why it pays

A product with real margin

Trading cards carry margins that snacks and soda do not, which is what makes a meaningful host share possible at all.

A straight answer

Where the money actually comes from.

Some operators are cagey about this. We would rather you understand it, because a host who knows the economics makes better decisions about placement.

We buy the card cases

Sealed booster boxes bought at case pricing, then broken down into single packs. That break is where most of the margin comes from.

Imports cost less

A Korean box costs roughly a third of the English equivalent holding the same cards. We pass part of that saving to the customer and keep part.

You take a cut off the top

Your share is calculated on gross sales, not on our profit after costs. There is no accounting for you to audit.

Our Commitment to KC

A KC business, building for KC

Every machine placed with an independent KC business is a new income line for an operator the national vending companies drove past. Every install creates restocking and service hours staffed locally, and every product mix is built around the customers who actually walk through that door.

  • Independent businesses first

We prioritise small, locally owned operators on both sides of the state line — including KCK, the urban core, and KCMO's East Side — at the same zero-cost terms we offer anyone else.

  • Local hiring

All restocking, service, and account-management roles are KC-based. We are committed to recruiting from local workforce development partners and offering entry-level operations roles with growth pathways.

  • A product with real margin

Trading cards carry margins that snacks and soda do not. That is the whole reason we can pay a host a meaningful share of gross rather than a token rebate.

  • The same deal for everyone

A family supermarket gets the same machine, the same product mix and the same revenue share as a regional chain — at zero cost either way. We invest, they benefit.
